Jack Horner (aka Leon The Pig Farmer and 50% of The Dirt) and Richie Yates (Liverpool based promoter and musician) have joined forces to create “The Conjuring”, a two day gathering promising to cast spells along with delivering the darker waves of psychedelia.
​
The event will take place in the unique and magical setting of Fell Foot Woods, Cumbria between 16-18 August 2024; home to Barry ‘the Blackwood Baptist’ Houghton. The woods are situated at the southern tip lake Windermere. The pair explain they’ve found the perfect location for this happening, set in a natural wood, with a purpose built stage area next to a glade amphitheatre. The surrounding area also offers attendees camping spots within walking distance to the event area. Wild camping with the comfort of a secure wood.

This festival is a meeting of spiritual and creative minds, the inaugural spectacle will bring together a collection of the North’s finest sonic space doomed psych rockers and curated by musicians and artists.
The Conjuring, a one stage festival of noise that brings 9 bands and music lovers together over two nights, promises to bring a feast of the underground, with a list of artists which will hold its own at any festival.

Introducing the bands: DEJA VEGA
Winsford trio Deja Vega are in the ascendancy, their Motorik fuelled hard hitting take on psych has got them filling venues all over the UK and beginning to do the same in Europe.
Their guitar led psych, pulses with rhythmic anger and hypnotic riffs with pummelling drums and hard hitting basslines giving them an almost punk sensibility.

Introducing the bands: HELICON
Championed and supported by Gideon Coe and Deb Grant on BBC Radio 6 Music; ‘God Intentions’, Helicon’s third studio album was released 28.04.23 on Fuzz Club. Their most ambitious, collaborative and psychedelic record to date. Mastered by Mark Gardener (RIDE), collaborators include Lavinia Blackwall, Anna McCracken, a string quartet, French avant-garde violinist Sotho Houle and more.

Helicon was formed in 2011 by brothers John-Paul and Gary Hughes in East Kilbride, Glasgow. Appalled by the mundane, mediocrity of mainstream music; rather than moan about it, they offered up an alternative. “Channeling the cosmic noise of their Scottish homeland and sitar-led, opium-tainted sounds of India with the neo-psychedelic swoons of 90s San Francisco”. Helicon has released 3 x singles, 9 x EPs, 3 x studio albums and 1 x Fuzz Club live session album.

Helicon signed to Fuzz Club in 2017. Their self-titled debut album was recorded and produced by Tony Doogan at Mogwai's Castle of Doom studio in Glasgow. They recently collaborated with Will Carruthers (ex-Spacemen 3 , The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spiritualized, Dead Skeletons) for the hilariously profound, mind-melting single 'Im More English Than You, You C*nt!'.

Introducing the bands: DEAD SEA APES
Dead Sea Apes are a Manchester based three-piece psych noise band. Taking influences from across the full spectrum of psychedelic rock, noise rock, Krautrock, Japrock, Dub and elsewhere, Dead Sea Apes create a sound that is wholly their own.
Formed in 2009, Dead Sea Apes have been mainstays of the UK underground rock scene and have released over 10 albums on the much loved and wide-ranging UK psychedelic label, Cardinal Fuzz, teaming up with the legendary Feeding Tube in the US.
